MIFOTRA and NPSC Discuss measures to Strengthen Public Service Management

On the 18th of August 2026, Hon. Judith Uwizeye, chaired a meeting with the National Public Service Commission (NPSC) to discuss key issues related to public service management and the promotion of safe, professional and ethical workplaces. Discussions focused on strengthening measures to prevent and address sexual harassment in the workplace and promote safe and respectful working environments, as well as enhancing transparency and fairness in the recruitment and placement of public servants. The meeting also addressed the importance of ensuring compliance with laws and regulations governing public service management, improving employee management, appeals and disciplinary processes, and promoting professionalism and ethical standards among public servants.

The meeting further highlighted the importance of promoting the mental health and wellbeing of public servants and creating working environments that are healthy, supportive and respectful. Hon. Minister Uwizeye emphasized the need to strengthen professionalism, accountability and respect for employees’ rights across public institutions. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of MIFOTRA and NPSC to continued collaboration in strengthening public service management and ensuring a public service that is professional, fair, ethical and accountable.
